Great for making rice pilaf, fried rice, casseroles and much more, this parboiled long-grain rice takes less time to cook compared to standard dry rice. Directions
Stovetop
1. Combine desired amount of rice and water or broth in saucepan. Add butter and salt to taste, if desired.
2. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover.
3. Simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Fluff with fork and serve.
For 2 servings, use 1 1/3 cups water or broth and 1/2 cup rice.
For 4 servings, use 2 1/4 cups water or broth and 1 cup rice.
For 6 servings, use 3 1/3 cups water or broth and 1 1/2 cups rice.
Electric Pressure Cooker
To prepare 2 cups dry rice (about 6 cups cooked)
1. Combine 2 1/4 cups water or broth, 2 cups rice and dash salt (optional) in 6-qt. electric pressure cooker. Cover and lock lid closed, making sure steam valve is in seal position.
2. Set to pressure cook on HIGH for 5 minutes.
3. Allow pressure to release naturally for 20 minutes, then carefully turn steam valve to vent position to release remaining pressure. Remove lid and fluff.
